I created a card deck of 78 unique cards of pets for over 50 different clients. I designed every card to go with that pet’s personality and matched what each client was looking for with their card or cards. Once the design aspect was complete, the card designs were turned into an actual deck of cards that people could purchase from my Etsy shop.
The first part of the process was to ask what type of design they were wanting for their card or cards. Sketches would be made after getting an idea of what they wanted. This client wanted to have her dog holding sticks that represented the wands.
Once the sketch was approved by the client, the digital design was started. All of the cards created for this deck were designed in Adobe Illustrator. Once I was done with the digital design based from the sketch, the design would be sent to the client for them to approve or make changes to.
The process was repeated for all 78 cards until the deck was completed. Once all the card fronts were designed, the card back design was created with the overall look and feeling of the cards in mind. The goal was to keep it simple so the main focus was the card fronts.
